Received an ARC in exchanged for an honest review, haven’t read either author’s work until this book.
Just from the title, I was expecting something similar to My Best Friend’s Wedding, where they make a pact, if either of them are not married by the age of thirty, they will marry each other. However, this story is more about love, all types of love. From the beginning, we are introduced to unconditional love between a parent and child. With the loss of a mother and the devastation of losing one’s spouse, to the love and care of siblings. Then we were introduced to high school crushes and puppy love. Moving forward to college where the authors introduce us to love at first sight, platonic love, respectful, honest and caring love, friendship and lots of sex. I’m not sure where soul mates come in but what started out as friends has become stronger than everlasting love. Although the title may be misleading, this story does not leave you astray but does leave you gutless and emotional.
