An epic mafia romance trilogy that sets a new bar for just how dark a hero can get, from NY Times Bestselling author CD Reiss.
Some girls dream of marrying a prince, but I never imagined I’d be sold to a king.
The keeper of secrets.
When he forced me to marry him, I cried for love I’d never know.
When he locked me away, I cried for the freedom I lost forever.
Every other tear I’ve shed is for my soul, because I’m falling for the devil himself.
About the Author:
CD Reiss is a New York Times bestselling author. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn’t pick up she’s at the well hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master’s degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
She’s frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn’t ever gotten her out of chopping that cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

My Review: ****
Mafia Bride by CD Reiss is the most anticipated book for 2021. Unlike most mafia books, this one is quite different because it’s a slow burn, with historical importance, and information is revealed as the story evolves, but secrets are ever-present.
Violetta Moretti lost both her parents in Italy when she was only five-years-old. Violetta and her older sister Rosetta are moved to New York City in the United States and raised by her Aunt Madeline and Uncle Gugliemo. Violetta straddles old-world Italian life and new world by going to college and becoming an ER nurse. At age nineteen, she is an American woman with a mind of her own, ambitions, and dreams. That was until she was sold into a marriage with non-other than the devil himself. Santino DiLustro, Cappo, king, monster, and keeper of secrets, collects on a debt that is owed. Violetta has so many questions about her life, why she was sold, what debt was owed, and to whom was the debtor.
There are so many more questions at the end of book one than answers, and I’m anxiously awaiting book two, hoping to know more history.
