“Evie Interrupted had me laughing one minute and crying the next. So full of heart and humor and an everlasting love that knows no limit. There is more than one love story in this beautiful book.” -Willow Aster, USA Today Bestselling Author
I was content with being alone, until he interrupted my heart.
Evie Interrupted by Alison G. Bailey is now live!
Ben said he loved me, lusted after me, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. From the very beginning I was honest with him about my complicated life. He promised me the only thing that mattered was our love. I thought the future was set, until… “Evie, I can’t do us anymore.” The day Ben walked away was the day my love life went on permanent hiatus. Men were a distraction that I didn’t want or need, until… Tall, dark, and handsome ex-pro-football-player, Butler Thompson entered the picture, and interrupted my heart.

The journey is about a caregiver’s life with flashbacks to the past—the before and after frontotemporal dementia. Evie’s account of the trials and tribulations of taking care of the one person who gave you life, a person who is your best friend, watching her decline daily, is an emotionally heart-wrenching task. While reading this story, I could relate to so many things that happened. Being a Caretaker is a job that not everyone can do and do well. When a parent becomes ill, our choices are not for the faint of heart, especially if they want to stay at home; every hospitalization, rehab stay takes its toll on both the patient and the caretaker. Simultaneously, hospice makes it a little easier, and the transition smoother is still a huge responsibility. While this story needed to be written, it is done very well, and keep in mind that everything happens for a reason and for the good of all.
