My Review: 4.5 Stars for Beyond the Thistles by Samantha Young is the first in The Highlands. Walker Ironside, 38, ex-Royal Marines and security expert who protected Brodan Adair for years, now works at Adair Estate. Sloane Harrow and her ten-year-old daughter, Callie, came to Scotland to escape her life in the United States. Sloane is a friend of the Howard family; Aria Howard hired her at the Adair Estate. Sloane is also a great baker; she met Regan Adair through school, where her son Lewis and Callie are in the same grade and became fast friends and often bakes for school fundraisers. ?Age-gap ?Single Mom ?Broody Bodyguard ?Forced Proximity ?Found Family This is a passionate story; you may experience every emotion under the sun and some you least expect. I highly recommend reading this standalone, but I think it would make a massive difference if you have some of the backgrounds of the Adair family since they are all present in this tale as well.
