Cor Amare by Pepper Winters

Cor Amare by Pepper Winters is now live!

I made the worst mistake of my life when I was twenty-two.

I let love and fear destroy everything I ever wanted, and now I have a choice to make.

Run and hide, or stay and face the consequences.

I’d always known I wasn’t allowed to love her.

I’d always accepted that I wasn’t allowed to keep her.

But that didn’t stop me.

I broke every rule and choked on every secret to have her.

The only problem is, those secrets aren’t just hunting me anymore, they’ve found me.

I can’t run.

I can’t hide.

For a moment, I had it all. I had all my dreams and the girl I would kill for.

But now, I have to pay the price.

I have to pay…

And I won’t survive.

A true coming-of-age story that spans a lifetime. This book deals with heavy subjects and is advised you check the Content Warnings on the Author’s website.

My Five-Star Review:

Cor Amare by Pepper Winters is the stunning conclusion of the Luna duet.
Cor means heart, and Amare implies love. Ayla means Moon’s Halo. Cor Amare is a coming-of-age tale with much darkness; for a list of trigger warnings, please see Pepper’s website. Below are a few lines that have stuck with me, and I wanted to share them as my review.

“In an act of love wrapped in violence, he’d proven to me that I didn’t have to be afraid of the world.”
“You know he adores us. To doubt his integrity and devotion to our family is just plain wrong.”
“Everyone is a murderer. You just need a good reason and a bad day.”
“By moonlight, I am yours; by the sea, you are mine, Forever.”
“Someday, but not today.”
“Today, we live. Today, we love. Today’s all that matters.”
“What a wonderful life. What a fabulous love. What an incredible day. Today was not that day. Tomorrow might not be, either. But when someday came, we could face it together. We would leap into the void. We would swim into the stars. And there, with the moon to guide us and the sea to carry us, we would find each other… all over again.”

Pepper Winters is a favorite, and she sure knows how to play with one’s emotions; for that, I am forever grateful.
