Because of Her by Jewel E. Ann is now live!
“If sin weren’t pretty, it wouldn’t be so tempting.”
I was an accomplished music professor.
Happily single.
Perfectly content.
Now, I’m unemployed.
Pining for a dark, brooding guy named Jack who lives in a garage with a piano.
And I’m plotting to seduce a married man because his daughter is responsible for my nephew committing suicide.
I don’t know why teenage girls are so mean.
I don’t know why rich men cheat on their wives.
And I don’t know why Jack has serial killer vibes, even though he leaves me speechless every time he speaks.
All I know for sure is that I feel safe in a stranger’s arms and understood by someone I don’t understand.
“You should be a little scared of everyone because humans are unpredictable.”
How far will I go for revenge? More than that …
How far will he go to save me?

My Five-Star Review:
Because of Her is the sixth book in the Jack & Jill Series.
End of the Day
Middle of the Knight
Dawn of Forever
One
Out of Love
Jewel E. Ann has written Because of Her as a complete stand-alone, meaning that reading the above books is unnecessary to understand what is happening. However, I highly recommend starting there since this is one of the best-written series.
Francesa (Frankie) Holter is a music theory professor, single, and is currently unemployed since sleeping with Dean’s husband. She travels to Boone, Kansas, to handle her twin brother’s estate. John Holter and his wife Lynn purchased a beat-up old house on an oversized lot. Their father, Taylor, said, “Never-ending series of headaches with a thirty-year mortgage on a poor decision.” However, John and Lynn were happy and welcomed a son, Steven, into the family. John lost his job and started drinking heavily; he took his own life in the backyard. Three years later, their son Steven was distraught over a knee injury, and he hung himself from the tree in the backyard. Lynn couldn’t handle the loss of both her spouse and her son, so she overdosed. John and Lynn’s neighbor, Eloise Owen, opens the house for Frankie and tells her about a letter she found from Steven’s girlfriend, Molly Standford, who told him to end his life. Eloise is renting her garage out to Jackson Knight, aka Jude Day, who has a twin sister, Jessica Day, aka Jillian Knight. At one point, Jackson was in love with Ryn; together, they had a daughter, Livy. Ryn died in an accident, but Jackson suspected it wasn’t an accident, and he was currently tracking the person he suspected of killing the love of his life. Jack and Frankie are both looking for revenge. Will they find it?
This story is suspenseful. The characters are well-defined, and the personalities come to life off the page. I love Jewel E. Ann’s work and think this series is one of the best ever written.
