Author Bio

New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author, Pam Godwin, lives in the Midwest with her husband, cats, retired greyhounds, and an old, foul-mouthed parrot. She traveled the world for seven years, attended three universities, married the vocalist of her favorite rock band, and retired from her quantitative analyst career in 2014 to write full-time.

Her interests veer toward the unconventional: bourbon, full-body tattoos, and tragic villains. Equally peculiar are her aversions to sleeping, eating meat, and dolls with blinking eyes.

My Review: *****

Cage of Ice and Echos is the second book in the Frozen Fate trilogy by Pam Godwin.

In the Hills of Shivers and Shadows, we witness the triumphant end of Kody and Frankie’s battle with Denver, the monster. However, the enigmatic Wolf has vanished, leaving behind a cryptic puzzle for survival. ‘Beneath its wings lie the answer you seek in a cage of ice and echos.’ This mysterious message sets the stage for a thrilling journey.

The tundra, a merciless landscape devoid of heat and food, becomes the ultimate test for Frankie, Leo, and Kody. Their hardships and their bodies breaking down without the energy to function paint a vivid picture of their struggle. How long can one survive in such a harsh environment?

‘We deceive and manipulate those we love out of noble intentions for our own misguided hearts. Love endures because of one true and constant element: forgiveness.’ These profound words, rich with wisdom, invite us to delve into the complexities of love and forgiveness, leaving us contemplative.

Rurik Strakh was a Russian oligarch who married Asya. Together, they had Denver Yastrub and Montgomery Loshad; they fled Russia to Alaska to rebuild their lives.

“My whole life has been pledged to this meeting with you.”

Through DNA, we learn who Leonid, Kodiak, and Wolfson Strakh’s biological parents are, and the connections are astonishing. However, many questions remain.

“I’ve lived to bury my desires and see my dreams corrode with dust. Now all that’s left are fruitless fires that burn my empty heart to dust.”

“Not all wounds bleed. Not all scars show. Some live beneath bones, cold and alone. In the chambers of frost, pain is my art. I’m the silent ache, the shadow that lingers, the present from your past, the knife in your heart. Who am I?”

Pam Godwin, I feel like I’m left hanging off the cliff. I can’t wait till August 2024 for Heart of Frost and Scars. If you read anything this year, please let it be this trilogy.
